On 19.9.40 I was on watch from 08.00 hours to 12.00 hours.

At 08.58 hours when sailing three miles E.S.E. of Cheung Chau Si

I saw four Chinese males clinging to a raft in the water. I stopped the ship and took them on board. They informed me that their junk had been attacked and burnt by Japanese. I conveyed

them to Hong Kong and handed them over to the police.
